Happy 4th of July

Timid-Lion-Marketing-StickerHey Hey! Welcome back to the blog. Tomorrow is the 4th of July here in the US and it should be a fun holiday weekend ahead. Luckily for us, our sales have started to pick back up. Etsy went dormant for a bit and caricature gig season came to an end with the school year. However, we have started to see a pickup in sales and booked a few gigs.

My hope is to start taking a little more time with these blog posts and talking about meaningful things to art and the creative process. It will also be nice to discuss the business side of things and the link between creativity and depression/anxiety. Look for more robust posts soon.

In the meantime, if you are in the St. Louis area, feel free to come hang out with me Friday night at Pieces STL. You know Pieces, the local board game bar and grill. We always have a good time so come out and get a free caricature!

Hey Hey! Welcome back to the Timid Lion Blog. In the coming weeks, I will share more about my upcoming book release. It is tentatively named “The Secret of Clean Socks“. This book will be available for purchase, although I am still exploring options on that front. I’m very excited to release this one. I’ve worked on a few dozen children’s books but this will be my first solo effort. Above is a sneak peak at the working cover design. This is probably pretty close to the finished piece. Stay tuned for details on how to purchase your own copy!

Caricatures of the Week #8

Hey Hey everybody and welcome back to the Timid Lion Blog. What a whirlwind two months it has been. This is the busy time of year for caricature gigs and I am lucky enough to stay busy multiple days a month, drawing at weddings/after proms/etc.. It also happened to coincide with the St. Louis Blues historic Stanley Cup Playoffs run, which ended Wednesday with them winning the Stanley Cup for the first time!

Needless to say (as a huge Blues fan), it has been hard to stay productive during this run. My mind has been focused on Blues hockey. But, I did manage to keep up with all of my work. Here are a few of my favorite caricatures from the past week. These were all from Etsy purchases, which you can check out here. We are always open for commission and our caricatures start at just $10. Take a look at our amazing customers feedback! Send us a ROAR! We always ROAR! back 🙂 Enjoy the artwork!

Before and After #4 – Witch!

Hello once again ladies and gentleman and welcome back to the Timid Lion vlog. It’s Monday and that means it is time to kick off another week with “Before and After”. The series where I post a piece of art and the sketch that inspired it. It has continued to be very busy at Timid Lion. Our caricature sales have been skyrocketing and last week I must have drawn over 150 caricatures. This week looks to be just as busy as I have 3 gigs lined up for live drawing, plus the weekly gig at Pieces. My hand is going to be tired 🙂 Don’t forget to grab your caricature from our Etsy store as they make great Mother’s Day gifts.

Onto Before and After! Here is a sketch that I drew a few year’s ago. It features a fun witch character. This was produced as a digital illustration and as I look back, I like the line art version better. In the future, I may revisit this piece. Halloween art is always fun as you can be as creative as you want to be.
