Whew! What a week. The St. Louis Blues have advanced to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 1970. I’m a huge hockey fan and I have to be honest, it has been hard to concentrate on anything other than this playoff run. I’ve listened to “Gloria” by Laura Branigan way more times than I care to think and I hope I get to listen to it 4 more times. Here are a few of my favorite caricatures from the past week. Grab your caricature here.
Hey Hey and welcome back! It’s Friday, which means it is time for another edition of the Caricatures of the Week! Every Friday, I share some of my favorites caricatures drawn in the past seven days. This time of year is very busy for caricature gigs as there are lots of wedding receptions, after proms and corporate events that need entertainment. If you are in the St. Louis area and are looking for something fun for your next event, contact us for more information! We also sell our caricatures through our Etsy store. Once you make your purchase, we will be in touch with how to send photos to us. Let’s take a look at our favorite artwork from last week:
A few of these are going to be used to make samples of digital caricatures. That is a new item that I just added to the Etsy store so I need to bulk the sample section up there. A few of these had the names on the art as they were for a wedding party. Obviously, the names have been redacted. Well, that will do it for now. We will see you here next week and until next time, so long everybody!
Hey Hey! Welcome back to another post here at the Timid Lion Blog. Today is Wednesday, which means today is Game 3 of the Western Conference Final. I’m a huge hockey fan/St. Louis Blues fan. These games are stressful but this playoff run has been fun to watch. Hopefully we can play “Gloria” tonight!
Here is a fun piece I put together last night. This comes from a sketch that I created a few years ago. There was a local beer festival in town and I was there to draw caricatures. These were from a series of sketches that I thought could have made fun prints. Then I realized that no one was going to have any interest in purchasing that type of thing. These sketched went into my “Future Projects” file and I played with them last night for about a half hour and came up with this fun 1960’s style illustration. It could be tweaked but it was a fun creative exercise.
Look at how happy they are. They are double-fisting the Bud Select 🙂 and having a good time. These fun projects are like digital sketches. They aren’t really going to be used for anything but you get to test your skills and try new things. Thanks for looking, let me know what you think. Until next time, so long everybody! Let’s Go Blues!

Hello once again ladies and gentleman and welcome back to the Timid Lion vlog. It’s Monday and that means it is time to kick off another week with “Before and After”. The series where I post a piece of art and the sketch that inspired it. It has continued to be very busy at Timid Lion. Our caricature sales have been skyrocketing and last week I must have drawn over 150 caricatures. This week looks to be just as busy as I have 3 gigs lined up for live drawing, plus the weekly gig at Pieces. My hand is going to be tired 🙂 Don’t forget to grab your caricature from our Etsy store as they make great Mother’s Day gifts.
Onto Before and After! Here is a sketch that I drew a few year’s ago. It features a fun witch character. This was produced as a digital illustration and as I look back, I like the line art version better. In the future, I may revisit this piece. Halloween art is always fun as you can be as creative as you want to be.

Hello once again and welcome back! Happy Friday. We are back for another edition of our Caricatures of the Week series. Each week, I draw dozens of caricatures. This week was particularly busy as I had both an 8-person and 24-person order come in through the Etsy store. While drawing those, I was watching old episodes of Alf. This is my job. People pay me money and I get to draw caricatures and watch Alf. That is so cool to me.
Most of these caricatures came from my visit to Pieces STL last Friday. It is such a fun place to draw, great atmosphere and wonderful people. I can’t say enough good things about them and if you’re in St. Louis, please give them a visit. Enjoy looking at our favorite drawings of the week and have a great weekend. Until next time, so long everybody!
